How much do your services cost?
Your
monthly payment figure may include a donation.
Are there any requirements or criteria I must meet to be accepted on the Program?
No, the only requirement of course is that you feel you need assistance with your Debts.
What if I am behind on my payments?
Hopefully you are not behind on your payments, but we understand that sometimes all of us run into some financial difficulty and so do your Creditors, which is why most Creditors will waive your Late-Fees and/or Over-the-Limit Fees after receiving "1-3" consecutive payments on our Program. Most of all of them will also Re-Age your account (bring it to a current status, showing no behind payments are due). This will immediately put you back on track with them.
Does this affect my credit in anyway?
Generally it is neither a plus or a minus on your credit due to the fact that the client is still making the payments. Also, your payments are computed based upon each individual Creditor's requirements (what they deem to be acceptable). They like to see clients on our program because we represent thousands of clients across the United States whose payments are on time and meet their requirements. They know that this will then be an assured payment to them. Although credit is open to interpretation by anyone, anyway they wish. You may want to contact your creditors regarding their individual policies however.
How long does it take to get started on the Program?
When you use our official On-Line forms, you can get started the Same day. Our credit counselors are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Do I have to put all of my Creditors on the Program?
No, it is entirely up to you which account you put on the Program. You are the only one who knows which accounts you need assistance with.
How is ACC/NCCA Credit Counseling funded?
We pride ourselves on the fact that we never charge our clients. Contributions from creditors and others interested in community improvement are our sole source of support.
What information do I need to have ready on my part?
You will need all of your Creditors names, account numbers, balances, and required monthly payments for each account. It is a good idea to gather your most recent statements. All information must be accurate and current in order for us to process your application. If information is inaccurate then your creditors may not accept you on the program.
Can I choose what day of the month my payments will be due?
Yes, you can choose any day of the month between the "1-21st". For example: Let's say you choose the "15th" of each month to make your one payment to us, then the "15th" of each month your payment will be due. We will then contact all of your Creditors and rearrange your due date accordingly, based upon your due date with us, so that they will be paid on time.
How do you figure what my monthly payment will be?
Each of your Creditors have specific guidelines that we must abide by in order to allow them to accept your payments. Depending on your balance the Creditors require a certain amount of that balance for your monthly payment. We calculate the lowest possible monthly payment that you can make to keep you in good standing with your Creditors. If you can send more each month ( if possible ), then you can do so to help get you out of debt sooner, and if not, you at least know the minimum amount that you can send.
Will all of my Creditors participate with your services?
We have a list of about 40,000 Creditors across the United States of whom we work with on a regular basis. Almost all major and minor Creditors are included in this list along with local ones in your own community. Most Creditors will reduce and/or remove your interest, and reduce your monthly payments. Sometimes they may do both, or one or the other. So the answer to the question is more than likely, Yes!
